After searching through google I landed on solostream.com. The WP-Bold theme of Solostream immediately caught my attention and I was already in love with the theme. Therefore I decided to buy the theme. Also the experience with after sales service was also great.
WP-Radiance as the other Solo Stream themes are, was easy to use and navigate. I think its major advantage over say Elegant or Templatic themes, is the Theme settings under the Appearance menu. It is an easy way to adjust all the elements of the Solo Stream theme and makes the process straight forward whilst remaining powerful enough to pinpoint what you need to do. So in a word Solo Stream is Easy!
This is a real workhorse website that was originally on a Movable Type platform but which I changed to WordPress and WP-Jazz about seven years ago. It is low on graphics and high on content and is an adjunct to my newspaper column in the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia.
At the heart of the website is a readers’ forum where people can ask and answer questions about living in apartments (a new experience for increasing numbers of Australians).
The website gets an average of about 600 unique visitors per day but that can shoot up to more than 2000 if I have a hot topic on the newspaper’s website driving readers here.
I occasionally think about updating the theme but, on the principle of “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke”, I might wait until till it won’t do something I want it to, then think about an upgrade.
I know WP-Jazz is a bit old school these days, but it has served me and my readers very, very well.
Very easy to use. Like the simplicity of the theme yet multiple ways to design it and change it up without it looking stale. The support forums are awesome as well. Went to them many times just for tips and tricks that I was stuck on and got the solution for.
I’v been using this theme since a few years now. The first weeks I needed support and the support forum to solve some basic issues. Since these first weeks it has been running smoothly. I have zero HTML knowledge. I’m in the proces of facelifting look & feel and navigation. I hired an HTML expert to select a fresh new theme to setup a much better website.
I have two sites and was already using wp clear on thewww.soundsfromsourceacademy.
I bought several themes and all of them, while they looked good, I found them a difficult learning curve in how to operate them and get the site looking how I wanted it.
Then I discovered that wp clear had an alternate home page theme. Brilliant
This was the look I wanted and it was responsive and I knew how to ‘operate’ the theme, which was easy compared to the other themes I had bought.
It took me a week or so to plan out where I wanted things to be and to trawl through the forum, looking for the information I needed to tweak the theme ie moving the nav menu below the header and little adjustments like this (as I am no techie).
On the day I decided to rebuild the site it took me about half a day to get everything where I wanted it. And then a few little tweaks over the next week or two.
Once I had redone soundsfromsource – I decided to overhaul soundsfromsourceacademy using the same theme but using the alternate home page also – this was done in a jiffy – as I only had to recreate the home page.
All in all I am happy. The sites look clean and fresh, they are easy to navigate about. I still have some videos I need to create and put up for the slider in sounds from source, but I feel no pressure there as the pages featured image will do nicely for now.
I am happy to show both sites www.soundsfromsource.com andwww.soundsfromsourceacademy.
Cheers,
Susan
One of the nice template That I have. Very presentable, great look and easy to use or modify.
I use the template since 2013 and I hope an update came to soon or a part 2 of this amazing template.
I have it for two long because I can modify a lot, with content, sections, with a side bar or without, etcetara.
Wish SoloStream make more like this.
Thank You!
I love the theme (WP Clear 3.2), and in fact have used the same theme on several websites now. This said however, as the theme is so versatile, you would never know it was the same them judging the sites from the front end. Also have to give big thumbs up to the Solosteam support forum, in particular Alistair Barnett, who even gave me his PERSONAL number at home for a problem I was having. Never fear, all was resolved in a timely manner.
Can’t wait to see future them releases from you guys!
The WP-PinUp theme was exactly what I was looking for in a theme. It has a fully functional and easy to set-up slider, nice social media integration, optional build-in advertisement space, an awesome lay-out and handles pictures an videos very well. And on top of that: it’s fully responsive, so our mobile users can enjoy the attractive lay-out as well. I was looking for a theme that presents it’s posts on the frontpage not too fixed, but in a little jolly way. As said, WP-PinUp is exactly that!
Responsive theme is the best theme that I have experiment. Easy to install, flexible, don’t need to be a programmer to install and make some changes. Really adapted for small and wide screens.
