Dear SoloStream developers, Over the course of the website that I work for, users were constantly complaining about the non-responsive design and slow site loading as done by in-efficient PHP code in the theme that my old WordPress users had to undergo. Then I came across SoloStream and the 'WP Blossom' theme. My, did that site jump leaps and bounds in functionality, and I couldn't be happier! The site loads much faster, and I am very much in approval of the built-in formats and shortcodes. The enabling of this theme took my site from a minor league site straight up to the majors. This is the first site I built with WP ever. Having said that, your theme was making it possible. I am not a developer at all, only a small business owner. I have looked at other themes and played around to build another site for another product line. After what I found while experimenting I will definitely either use the same theme again or probably purchase another Solostream Theme. It save a ton of work even though my site is very customized and not a "run of the mill" site. Your support is amazing. Mostly all the answers are found on your board already. No, I am not just saying that. I am speaking from a real world experience while using WP and finding out the amount of WP idiosyncrasies which can be pretty frustrating. So far the theme worked with all the plugins. Even the custom menu I plugged in. (FYI we are ranking on first 3 Google pages for our keywords, often under the first 5 on page 1. It's easy to customize just using the simple built-in theme setting page but also easy to identify tweaks to custom CSS too thanks to the custom.css file and the structure of this versatile theme. It is an easy way to adjust all the elements of the Solo Stream theme and makes the process straight forward whilst remaining powerful enough to pinpoint what you need to do. Stability. Reliability. Flexibility. Compatibility. Infinitely customizable. Superior customer support. If you have a vision as to how you want your site to look, feel, and function choose Solostream. Solostream themes, in this case Enlightened, do not restrict your options nor limit your vision, they inspire and enable. I'm not a developer by any stretch. I'm not familiar with WordPress magic nor could I explain its inner workings if my life depended on it. Solostream's basic framework is so well crafted that I don't need to. I can focus on my readers, my content, presentation and brand aesthetic. Although there's plenty of discussion about the pros and cons of plugins, they do provide additional functionality, services, and features that realistically, a single theme cannot. In my experience, Solostream themes are plugin friendly. Good quality, well supported plugins combined with the Solostream framework and tailored CSS can, and will, result in a stable, unique expression of your interest, passion and content. Enlightened is receptive and Solostream plays nice with new ideas. Aesthetic changes are, with a little bit of CSS knowledge, easy and the built-in customization allows me to experiment without having to learn yet "another" go around to get the results I'm seeking. It also eliminates any worries that my changes will be sacrificed to the ether during the next theme update, or plugin activation. Customer support is easily accessible and their response time is praiseworthy. I've never been left hanging, in panic, lost in a muddle, even when I deserved it. :) In fact, on more than one occasion I've received above and beyond, often unsolicited advice about my less than optimal CSS or what might be required to achieve the result I desire. Most basic customizations that come easily to these guys are shared freely - just for the asking. Customizations, beyond the basics, are available for a fee. I don't know if there's anything that can't be done with a Solostream theme. This particular site is very small. It focuses on a very small audience, in a very small community experiencing very specific and controversial challenges. The site has, and will, see many changes, adaptations and reiterations; it's a work in progress - a labor of love - probably always will be. Enlightened allows me to change and grow as circumstances dictate. Enlightened is enlightened and Solostream is one of a kind.

It's perfect for showing off latest news items on the home page, carrying sponsors' adverts, and it presents all information in a clear and tidy manner. This is a real workhorse website that was originally on a Movable Type platform but which I changed to WordPress and WP-Jazz about seven years ago. It is low on graphics and high on content and is an adjunct to my newspaper column in the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia. At the heart of the website is a readers' forum where people can ask and answer questions about living in apartments (a new experience for increasing numbers of Australians). The website gets an average of about 600 unique visitors per day but that can shoot up to more than 2000 if I have a hot topic on the newspaper's website driving readers here. I occasionally think about updating the theme but, on the principle of "don't fix it if it ain't broke", I might wait until till it won't do something I want it to, then think about an upgrade. I know WP-Jazz is a bit old school these days, but it has served me and my readers very, very well.

It was very easy to transfer my old website design to this new theme. I thought there would be some 'downtime' but there wasn't. Obviously I then tweaked it a bit afterwards but my site was up and running virtually straight away without it looking weird! When I eventually needed some help with changing the code I just asked on the forum and it got sorted within a day. Certain recommend it.

The outstanding attributes of this theme are actually common to most of the Solostream themes, however there are a few select features that are unique to the Blossom theme that I really like. The Blossom theme is such an easy theme to use and adapt to a personal style. As you can see, I used my own store header and adjusted all of the site colors to compliment the color choices of the header. I love the slider on this theme. The entire featured photo shows without description overwriting. The text is offset on the left side of the photo which is perfect for this particular site. I also prefer having a primary navigation bar above the header and a secondary navigation bar below the header. I use the primary for the "about me" and "contact me" pages and the secondary for my category tabs. The Feature Post Widget allows me to layout a home page design and easily change it when desired. I also use a variety of additional widgets on the home page including the Subscribe Box and Featured Category Sliders. My personal favorite feature of this theme, and all of the Solostream themes that I have used, is the CSS Stylesheet Editor that allows me to add code to the theme without opening individual editor sections. This is such a great feature! It is one of the main reasons I recommend Solostream themes to all of my website creating friends.
