Hey Mate,
I’ve purchased WP-Ellie before and love it. A quick question about WP-MediaMag.
Like on WP-Ellie, is it possible to change the blog layout to ’3 posts aranged side by side by category’ and to also opt out of the featured post slider?
Oh, and I know this sin’t the WP-Prosper page, but does WP-Prosper allow you to change that top header colour from grey to perhaps a different one? Also, both of these themes support custom background images?

Hi Jakk. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, you can turn off the featured content. No, there’s no option for 3 posts side-by-side on MediaMag.
WP-Prosper DOES allow you to change the top header color, and yes, both themes support custom background images.

Hello. I really like this theme. Is it possible to eliminate or replace the “Recent Photo Gallery” section? Perhaps with “Recent Videos” or recent articles from a specific category?

Yes, you could eliminate it or change what appears there. You’d still have just the thumbnails though unless you modify the template a bit.

Have answered most of my questions by watching the videos on Ellie & Clear: amazing back-end option panels !!! And I assume Media-mag is similar BUT having said that I think CLEAR, is the one for me.
Only #1 stands: will I need that plug-in for it to read my already present images?

Hi Michael. You just need to install the Get the Image plugin and the thumbnails will be pulled form your posts and displayed in the appropriate place.

Hi Jose. If you want to use the theme on multiple more than one site, you can upgrade to the Multiple Use version for $100. If you are sure you will only need it for 1 other site, yes, you can just buy another Single Use license.

With Developer license, you can use the theme as a base to build sites for other people. The multiple use is only for your own sites. Either one allows you to modify the theme as much as you like.

You can add as many featured items as you like.
You may be able to add the social buttons to home page posts, but it depends on the particular plugin and how it’s implemented.

Hi Kathy. This featured slider is only available on this particular theme. If you know your way around a wordpress theme, CSS and PHP, you could move it to another theme if you like.
PSDs are available for all themes and all licenses.

I have a couple of questions which I was hoping you could answer.
1. I’d like to use this template for my blog but since I am a developer myself, I’d like to be able to customize the theme slightly for my use. I don’t want to use it as a platform to develop client projects. So I wanted to know if you could please tell me which license I need to get. I’m guessing I need the “Single Use”.
2. When I purchase either of the licenses can I remove the footer, so it doesn’t mention “Copyright WP-MediaMag 2010. All rights reserved.” ?

Hi Rokham. Yes, the Single use license will be fine if you are not using the theme for client sites.
The footer copyright text will change automatically based on the settings of your own WP site.

As far as setting up the theme, there’s an install and set-up guide for each theme found on that theme’s demo site, however, it would be good if you understood how WordPress works first.

I just bought the theme – paypal payment will take 2-3 days because I have no credit card and the bank transfer takes some time.

Hi Shenelle. Yes, the theme will resize the images. However, you should try to use images that are sized according to a ration of 3:2. For example, 300px wide X 200px height or 600×400. If you use an image with a ration different than that, it may appear a bit deformed.

I am looking to put up a community portal / news type website that will prominently feature a comprehensive events calendar. I like your WP-Media theme for this, but have the following questions:

Hi Jim. I’m not aware of anyone who’s ever used Trumba with our themes, so I can’t say for sure how well it would integrate. The best I can say is that I’m not aware of anything that would prevent it.
The color options shown on the demo site are the only ones provided via the theme settings page, however, you can modify colors via the stylesheet as well.
The background image is easy to change.
All of our premium themes, such as this one, include lifetime access to the Solostream Support Forum.

Hi there
I like this theme, just a few questions before I buy it. Can you easily change the background (the bit behind the website) design and colour of the website? (it looks like wallpaper, I want it to be plain). Also I want to know if video (flash – youtube) can be easily embedded on any page of the website (obviously aside from the home page)? I want a video with nearly every post I make. Plus the top three post areas that scroll along (top of the page) I notice only 1 is a video post, can all of them be set as video posts?

Hi Alex. Yes, you can easily change the body background to a solid color via the theme settings page.
Video can be embedded pretty easily into a wordpress post if you have the embed code.
There’s also guidance here to create a video post. And you can have as many video posts in the feature content section as you like.

Hi JD. I’m not completely sure what you mean. Regardless of the theme you use, you can post video on a WordPress site by pasting the embed code (provided by youtube or vimeo) into the post editor.
As for WP-MediaMag, the actual videos do not show up on the featured content slider; just and image.

Hi Ralf. WP-MediaMag uses the Gettext function throughout the theme to make translation easier. You would just need to create the .po file that’s needed to complete the translation.

Also, there are some settings on the Theme Settings Page that allow you to change the body background to a solid color or some other image if you like.

Hi Keith. There are several WordPress plugins available that can add the lightbox functionality for you quite easily. My best advice would be to try a search in the WordPress plugins directory. Shutter Reloaded is one that I’ve personally tested with WP-MediaMag, and it works very well.

Web page load time is affected by many things, such as the amount of content on the page, the size of any images used, the efficiency of your web host, any plugins that may be used and various other factors. One way to speed things up is to use a cache WordPress plugin such as WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.
