Michael Chaffin was kind enough to tag me with the 5 things meme, so without further adieu, here goes.
1. I once auditioned to be a body double for the Naked Cowboy. The casting director laughed so hard that coffee shot out his left nostril. After he gained his composure, he politely suggested that I - and I’m paraphrasing here - go home and work on my glutes.
Okay. That’s not completely true, but at the tender age of 5-years-old, I did pull off a stirring portrayal of John F. Kennedy in a very short, but well-received, kindergarten play. To this very day, I can’t help but feel that I missed my calling as an actor.

A little over a month ago, I introduced Solostream Web Studio. If you remember, I set a short term goal to establish it as a successful small business web design firm. At the time, “successful” meant that it would support me financially without having to work an additional full-time job. I thought (hoped) I could make it happen by the end of the year.
It happened sooner than that. August 28 (last Monday) was officially my last day as an employee. I now operate Solostream Web Studio full-time from my home office. It’s a little weird. It just sort of happened. I wrote a few blog posts that drew a lot of interest and led to a lot of links from bigger sites, and the people just showed up and wanted to work with me. So much so that I couldn’t afford to go off to a job every day when there was so much business coming in here at home.
There’s more to it than that, of course, and I’ll talk about it later. For now, I just wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone and tell you how amazing it feels to be free. Especially after dreaming and writing about it for nearly two years.

I’m creating a Small Biz Forms database for Solostream users. When I say forms, I mean pre-designed forms that help you start, plan and run your business and/or your life. If you’d like to have your form(s) included, send it to me in MS Word or PDF format along with whatever contact info you’d like to be on the form.
Release: By sending your form, you give me unconditional permission to distribute the form freely and to include the line “Compliments of Solostream | www.solostream.com” anywhere on the form (don’t worry, I won’t degrade the look of your form in any way).
It’ll be a nice little viral marketing opportunity for both of us. Looking forward to your submissions!
Update: You can email the form(s) to me or send me a download link.

In case you hadn’t noticed, there are some major changes happening here at Solostream. Yes, even though it’s been dormant for a few months, Solostream is alive and well, albeit still pretty immature from a business standpoint. Over the next 6 months, that will change. Before I get into what I’m planning, lets briefly recap the recent changes. I warn you in advance, this is a bit long (but necessary). Read More
