WordPress 2.8 and Solostream WordPress Themes
0We have completed the testing for our most popular themes on the new WordPress 2.8 version. Here is the list of themes that are confirmed to work properly on the new platform:
- WP-Magazine
- WP-Crystal
- WP-Jazz
- WP-Smooth
- WP-Clear
- WP-Vybe
- WP-Chatter
- WP-Prolific
- WP-MediaMag
For each of these themes, we performed the following:
1. Verified that built-in support for plugins work (“Popular”, “Comments”, Featured and Post Thumbnails).
2. Scrolled down main page to make sure sidebars and post excerpts appear as they should.
3. Clicked pages and categories to make sure layout looks good.
In general, we would like to let you know that themes (ours or those produced by other developers) do not typically “break” when there is an update to the WordPress software. Typically what happens is the theme does not have the capability to use use a new feature but continues to work. An example of this is the threaded comments that were incorporated into version 2.7.
The great majority problems associated with WordPress updates are caused by plugins that do not interact properly with the WordPress functions code (or sometimes there are glitches in plugins that are updated but not properly tested). We will continue to do our best to test and help our customers through these situations.
